Abstract
Over the past decades, the Indonesian health care system has expanded greatly. While free health care system had already been implemented in many regions, our study has discovered that a significant number of poor urban migrants who were not equipped with identity cards were not covered by the program. This situation unfortunately led to the conditions where the poor urban migrants failed to optimally utilizing health services due to financial difficulties. This seminar will present the National Health Security (JKN) for the Poor in Indonesia paying particular attention to the Urban Poor Migrants, based on the study conducted in three cities in Indonesia, namely Bandung, Makassar and Surabaya.
Note: This data for the seminar derived partly from our study on Urban Poor Migrants and Access to Health Care Services in the Context of Social Security System conducted with Ade Latifa, Fitranita, Djoko Hartono and Eniarti Djohan of LIPI 2009 -2011, 2014 -2016.
