We are thrilled to announce that one of our faculty members of PEPP, Professor Fukai, recently had his research published in one of the most prestigious academic medical journals, JAMA Pediatrics (IF 26.8). This research delves into the impact of COVID-19 on early childhood development. The study, which involved 887 Japanese children, revealed that children exposed to the pandemic experienced a developmental delay of 4.39 months by the age of 5. These variations in development were even more pronounced during the pandemic, underscoring the need for support in areas such as learning, socialization, and overall well-being.
