Speaker’s Introduction:

Ms Chisupa has had an extraordinarily impressive career to date, and brings with him to the seminar a treasure trove of professional experience. Before he joined
DIPIPE (The Doctoral Program in International Political Economy) of the University of Tsukuba, a previous incarnation of PEPP, he worked for the government of Zambia as Project Manager – UNDP/GRZ Project on Social Safety Nets. In 1997, he joined DPIPE of the University of Tsukuba, graduating in 1999. Since then, he has worked for the Government of Zambia. He was the Permanent Secretary (highest ranked officer in the organization) of Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Zambia (2006-2009); the Permanent Secretary of Management Development Division at Cabinet Office of Zambia (2009); the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting of Zambia (2009-2010); and Chief Policy Advisor of the President in Office of the President (State House) (2010-2011). Since 2012, he has been working for the University of Lusaka. He also works as a development consultant and gives various advice to a variety of different organizations. He is the Board Chairperson of The Southern African Social Protection Experts Network. Using his experience, he occasionally writes newspaper articles in Zambia.

In the seminar, Mr. Chisupa will talk about how Economic and Public Policy students and researchers alike can develop their careers. The first 30 minutes will take the form of a speech, with the next 30 minutes set aside for questions and answers.
