Ms. Tatevik Poghosyan:

Currently, a Policy Advisor and Economist for Social and Economic Development Canada, her outstanding career is an inspiration to PEPP students, potential PEPP applicants, and alumni alike. Having completed her MA. in Public Administration and Political Science from Yerevan State University, Armenia, Ms. Poghosyan first came to Japan as a MEXT Scholar to study at the University of Tsukuba from 2006 to 2009. Post-graduation, she continued her research at the United Nations University in the Netherlands from 2009-2015, receiving her doctoral degree from the United Nations University and Maastricht University in 2017.

Her professional career began when she took up a position as a PhD fellow and UN consultant at the United Nations University and Maastricht University in 2009. While still developing her PhD dissertation, she received a Research Award from the International Development Research Centre (Canada) and worked at the Centre from 2013 to 2014. A visiting researcher from 2015-16 at the University of Ottawa (Canada), in 2016 she started to work with the Federal Government of Canada, including the ‘Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario’, ‘Innovation Canada’, and ‘Innovation, Science and Economic Development’; before arriving in her current position, mentioned above, as a Policy Advisor and Economist for ‘Social and Economic Development Canada’.

With such an exceptional educational and professional background, we feel fortunate indeed to be able to welcome Ms. Poghosyan to PEPP as our guest speaker.

Please feel free to join the session, if you are a potential applicant to PEPP, a University of Tsukuba current student, or alumni.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Career Development webinar on November 10th!
